Vision Statement Club Philosophy New Club Playing Shirts

The Maroochydore Soccer Football, Social Youth and Sporting Club Inc (Maroochy Soccer) was founded in 1968 and has operated continuously from that time. It had a name change in 2006 to Maroochydore Football Club to better reflect the truly global appeal of our sport. The club was originally created to provide a winter sport for the local lifesavers and to provide an opportunity for the young kids of the area to develop their social skills by being involved in a team sport.

Originally based at Cotton Tree, the club has since moved twice, firstly to Wises Rd, Maroochydore, and finally in 2002 we moved to our current location at “Martins Creek” Kuluin. The complex has 5 fully floodlit full size fields and one ¾ size field.

MFC provides team sport activities to over 500 senior and junior club members. The club promotes physical activity and social inclusion to people of all ages and gender in the Sunshine Coast region.

We are a progressive club with a number of significant achievements in recent years as follows:

Female Facilites – changing rooms and showers completed April 2020 – thank you to the Federal Gov!
An amazing shade structure that covers our Field 1 seated area and walkway.
Installation of new floodlights so that all 6 fields are now lit to competition standard (with funding provided by club funds, the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and the State Government).
Installation of concrete seating beside field 1 at the complex (with funding provided by club funds, the Sunshine Coast Regional Council and the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund).
Purchase of a new tractor / finishing mower to improve surface quality of the pitches (funded by the Gambling Community Benefit Fund).
New furniture and AV system for the clubhouse (funded by the Gambling Community Benefit Fund).
Successful running of active inclusion programs for the disabled.

Club Philosophy

At Maroochydore Football Club, we are proud to be the largest and most inclusive football community on the Sunshine Coast. Our philosophy is centred on providing a complete football experience that supports every stage of a player’s journey — from their first kick to competitive senior football and beyond.

We are guided by five core principles:

New Club Playing Shirts

NEW CLUB PLAYING SHIRT - 2026

We are excited to officially unveil our new playing strip for 2026, to be worn across all teams. This special design has been created as a tribute to the Traditional Owners of our land and tells a story that is deeply connected to our club, our history, and our community.

This is more than a jersey, it’s a symbol of identity, unity, and respect. We invite our football community to embrace the new design and wear it with pride as we continue to honour our past and stand together as one club.

THE STORY BEHIND OUR NEW PLAYING STRIP

As the rivers flow from the hinterland to the ocean across Kabi Kabi land, the black swan, Kuluin, opens her wings to welcome those who walk along the riverbanks, guided by their Elders. The men and women guide our young ones on their journey, helping them grow in themselves and contribute to the community they have been welcomed into — a community built along the banks of the Maroochy River.

The black swan (Kuluin) wings are open, yet gently folded around those who come from all walks of life, offering both welcome and protection. The men and women are connected by the rivers, represented through the white and blue dot patterns. The bunya image on the sleeve symbolizes the deep connection to the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi people and the land, reminding us that we all gather and share its boundaries with respect.

The light blue bora ring represents the women and girls, while the darker blue ring represents the men and boys — each coming together to support, strengthen, and uplift one another. The dots throughout the design embody the rivers and mountains that unite us.
